8858. Alvin J. Tuck Hammered Copper Peacock Feather Bowl c1917. Alvin J. Tuck, Sr. designed lamp bases for Tiffany. Most were cast bronze but some were electroformed bases making for much more crisp details. Tuck left Tiffany and started his own electroformed lamp base business in New York City in about 1917. In the mid-1920s Tuck moved his operations to Brookfield, CT. The Great Depression killed the lamp business so the company began making jewelry and other products. In the 1940s Alvin Tuck, Jr. expanded the business into custom electroformed components which continues today. Signed. Excellent original patina. 9.75″d x 3.5″h SOLD
