Timberline Lodge

Timberline Lodge - Ray Neufer Douglas Fir Franklin Roosevelt Armchair c1937. Originally made for the Timeberline Lodge by Ray Neufer after his original commission of this form for President Franklin Roosevelt. Since the original Timberline Chairs did not have arms, Roosevelt needed a matching version to use when he came to the Lodge in 1937 to dedicate The Timberline Lodge. Neufer was asked to make two of these, the first of which is still at The Timberline Lodge. This armchair was deaccessioned approximately 10 years ago when the Timberline Lodge sold off some pieces from their basement storage. Signed with a Ray Neufer dedication plaque upon his retirement from the Timberline Lodge after 40 years. Excellent original finish. Original hand-spun wool seat covering made on site by the WPA workers. 33"h x 25.5"w x 27"d
