16715. Charles Rennie Macintosh Coatrack Argyle Street Tea Rooms Glasgow 1897. The Argyle Street Tea Room was one of Macintosh’s first creative commission with Miss Catherine Cranston and her series of Tea Rooms in Glasgow. At present, only four other examples of stands from the Argyle tea room are known. In the book Charles Rennie Mackintosh: The Complete Furniture, Drawings, & Interior Designs by Roger Billcliffe, 2009, in which the author believes this piece is the one pictured on page 64.Two replaced umbrella brackets and one replaced drip pan.
