5549. Large Rookwood “Black Opal” vase decorated by Sara Sax with stylized floral design. Dated 1925. Perfect condition. Purchased in 1942, the buyer told his children that he had been taken to the Museum vault at Rookwood and shown some of the older, prized pieces therein and allowed to take his pick.
