
Mathews Furniture Shop carved oak armchair probably made for the Masonic Temple, 25 Van Ness, San Francisco. Refinished. Repair to base. Signed with branded Poppy mark. The Furniture Shop was founded by Arthur & Lucia Mathews in 1906 after the great San Francisco earthquake to make great artistic furniture for many of the great mansions and institutional buildings that were being rebuilt.
